Welcome to Jaapkaro. Your privacy is critically important to us. This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, use, and protect your personal data when you use our mobile application and website.

1. Information We Collect

To provide you with the best spiritual and chanting experience, we collect the following types of data:

Account Data: Email address, display name, and profile picture URL (when you choose to sign in via Google Sign-In).
Usage Data: Chanting (Naam Jap) counts, daily Mala records, streak counts (current and longest streaks), chanting history logs, selected mantras, and in-app preferences (such as language, haptic feedback, and sound settings).
App Activity (Interactions): We collect anonymous metrics on page views and taps specifically related to interacting with our internal promotional banners and messages.
Device Information: General device telemetry (operating system version, app version), crash logs, and Mobile Advertising IDs (such as Android AD_ID) to serve ads and prevent fraud. We also collect anonymous device identifiers (such as your Android Build ID) and basic device locale (e.g., country) for internal frequency capping of our own promotional messages.
Media Access: Access to your device's photo gallery/album via the standard system image picker, strictly when you explicitly choose to customize and upload your profile avatar.
Push Notification Tokens: Device tokens for Google Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) to deliver push notifications and daily reminders (if notifications are enabled).

2. How We Use Your Data

To synchronize your chanting progress and history securely across multiple devices via Firebase.
To track and display your daily streaks and chanting statistics.
To send you push notifications, daily reminders, and motivational updates.
To authorize and upload custom profile pictures securely.
To display non-personalized or personalized advertisements via Google AdMob to support the app.
To serve internal promotional messages (House Ads) and measure aggregate interaction metrics (such as views and clicks) while ensuring you do not see the same message too many times.

3. Third-Party Services

We integrate several trusted third-party service providers to power features. These services may collect information used to identify you under their respective privacy policies:

Google Firebase (Auth, Firestore, Messaging): For secure account registration/login, cloud data sync, and sending push notifications.
Google AdMob: For displaying advertisements to support the app. AdMob uses device advertising identifiers to serve relevant ads.
Supabase & Vercel: Supabase is used as a secure, read-only content source to fetch Aarti lyrics, Chalisa databases, and Panchang details. Vercel and Supabase are also used together to securely host and deliver our internal promotional messages (House Ads) and track anonymous ad view statistics. No personally identifiable user data is sent to or stored on these services for ad tracking.
Cloudinary: Cloudinary is used to securely store and deliver your uploaded profile pictures. A secure serverless API hosted on Vercel is used to authorize these image uploads by validating your Firebase authentication token.
YouTube (Google): The app uses the YouTube iframe player API to play devotional video content. When you watch these videos, YouTube/Google may collect usage telemetry under Google's Privacy Policy.

4. Data Deletion & Your Rights

You have full control over your data. In compliance with Google Play Developer policies regarding user data deletion, you can request to permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time.

How to delete your account & data:

Open the Jaapkaro App.
Tap the Profile tab in the bottom navigation.
Scroll down and tap Delete Account.
You will be securely redirected to our account deletion portal at https://www.jaapkaro.in/p/delete-account.html.
Alternatively, you can visit https://www.jaapkaro.in/p/delete-account.html directly from any web browser to submit your request.
Upon confirmation, your profile metadata, chanting statistics, daily history logs, and authentication records will be instantly and permanently wiped from our servers.

Additionally, you can use the in-app "Reset Chant Data" option in your settings to clear your chanting history and stats without deleting your profile.

5. Guest Mode Privacy

If you use Jaapkaro in "Guest Mode" without signing in, all your chanting data is stored locally on your device (via secure local databases). We do not transmit or store this data on our servers. However, clearing your app cache or uninstalling the app will permanently delete this local data.

6. Children's Privacy

Jaapkaro does not knowingly collect personal identifiable information from children under 13. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we immediately delete this from our servers.
